On October 16, the State Tourism Agency organized a media tour for representatives of nearly 40 media outlets to showcase the newly established recreational park in Suqovushan, Tartar District.
During the media tour, Azadə Hüseynova, Deputy Chair of the State Tourism Agency, informed the media representatives that a park has been developed around the Suqovushan reservoir, initially constructed in the 1970s through the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The park includes scenic walking paths along the shore, seating areas, conversation spots, a children’s playground, and sports facilities. Additionally, the 7.5-hectare park features a tourist information center, a café, a floating dock, and a parking area for transportation services catering to tourists. The area has undergone extensive greening efforts, with nearly 5,000 trees and shrubs planted.
Azadə Hüseynova also noted that the second phase of developing Suqovushan's tourism infrastructure will include the construction of a new bridge, the adaptation of the historic bridge and the existing Flag Square to the park, and comprehensive landscaping work.
It is worth mentioning that the foundation for the Suqovushan Recreation Park was laid on March 20, 2022, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
On October 15, President Ilham Aliyev visited the Tartar District and attended the opening of the Suqovushan Recreation Park, where he closely examined the newly developed tourism infrastructure and landscaping efforts.
