ABOUT HERITAGE MANAGEMENT

The Reserves Management Center is a Public Legal Entity established under the State Tourism Agency by the decree number 417 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on December 20th, 2018.

The Reserves Management Center is responsible for the following Seven Reserves:

  • “Yanar dag” State Historical – Cultural and Nature Reserve
  • “Ateshgah Temple” State Historical – Architectural Reserve
  • “Basqal” State Historical - Cultural Reserve
  • “Khinaliq” State Historical, Architectural, and Ethnographic Reserve
  • “Lahij” State Historical and Cultural Reserve
  • “Yukhari Bash” State Historical and Architectural Reserve
  • “Kish” Historical and Architectural Reserve

The responsibility of these Reserves was transferred to the authority of the State Tourism Agency by the resolution number 255 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on June 7th, 2018.

The Reserves Management Center aims to implement conservation measures to protect the tangible and intangible heritage assets of its seven reserves, introduce efficient administrative and financial management, develop its tourism potential, revitalise the economy via integrating the local population into the tourism and heritage value-chains, as well as to invest in capacity building, education and training in particular for public/private stakeholders and the young generations.
